PMIP 3 Last Glacial Maximum 21K Synthesis Maps
Important notes
- You can access maps of Annual,
Winter (DJF) and Summer (JJAS) differences
(21k - 0k) by clicking on
the apropriate thumbnails below.
The maps will appear in new tab of your browser. In order
to easily look at the maps, we suggest that you drag this display
tab on your desktop (out of the current browser window). This will
create a new browser window that you can put next to this page for
improved navigation. And then you just have to click on the
model/variable/mean that you want to look at.
These maps are high resolution png files and your browser may
display a reduced version of the actual map (to fit your window
and screen size). You may have to click on the map to display a
full-size version...
- The maps are based on the monClim (climatological monthly means)
files of the PMIP 3 database.
- The date found in the upper right corner of a given map is the
date of the most recent data file that was used to generate the
map.
Warning! This data file date is the date when the most
recent monClim file used was generated, and all the
monClim files were recomputed in Spring 2014! The actual model
data these files are based on may be much older! For actual model
data release date, you should download the monClim files from the
PMIP3/CMIP5 database and check the metadata (ncdump -h
my_monClim_file.nc), or search the database and look at the
version of the Amon/Omon/etc datasets.

the variables (e.g. variable names) can be obtained
in
the Experimental Design section.
