Paleoclimate Modelling Intercomparison Project Phase III
|
We have started a new round of discussions about PMIP
experiments and boundary conditions at the end of 2014.
You can find a list of all the discussions (present and old
discussions) on the
List
of ongoing discussions page.

The Palaeoclimate Modelling Intercomparison Project (PMIP) began
in the early 1990s to provide an efficient mechanism for
coordinating palaeoclimate modelling activities. The key aims of
the project are to:
- Understand the mechanisms of climate change
- Identify the different climatic factors that shape our environment
- Evaluate the capability of state-of-the-art models to
reproduce different climates
This is achieved through:
- Coordinated model experiments
- Paleo-data syntheses
- Model-data comparisons
